Job Description

Our Company is looking for an experienced energetic and highly motivated individual to work as an Assistant Teacher/ Floater in a child care program. Applicants must be qualified by training and experience to carry out their respective functions in the administration, operation and maintenance of the child care program. These employees must be reliable, mature, of good character and possess suitable personal qualifications. Applicant must be in good physical and mental health and have the energy and emotional stability necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of their positions. This professional must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The following staff requirements are needed to qualify for employment:

  • Employee must have 9 credits or working towards a teaching degree

  • NYS certification in any subject or grade levels K-8 is a plus but not mandatory.

  • References (3)-1 personal, 2 Employment, Criminal History, Child Abuse Statement, Medical Statement, required training.

  • Driving License A Must

  • Bilingual in any language is a plus but not mandatory.

JOB DUTIES

  • Plan and implement daily activities designed to foster the growth and development of each child in your care.

  • Aid in the preparation of creating educational materials required to implement the daily activity plan.

  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment encouraging optimal growth and development of the children.

  • General custodial duties in the classroom and throughout after school facility.

  • Maintain and set up the playground for physical development activities.

  • Maintain positive informal and formal communication with parents on a daily basis.

  • Participate in continuing educational activities and in-service training annually.

  • Develop a cooperative and supportive attitude with staff, parents and children.
