The Program Finance Senior Manager is the dedicated "Therapeutic Area CFO" for development all programs within assigned therapeutic areas, providing value-add analyses and interpretation for relevant stakeholders, primarily Senior Management and external collaborators. As a member of the Program Finance Leadership Team, the Program Finance Senior Manager implements best practices and standardization to drive efficient management across their therapeutic areas. The position has three direct reports and is responsible for workload allocation and people development of their team.

  • Review the Financial Reporting and Analysis for assigned therapeutic areas including monthly actuals reporting, quarterly forecast analysis.
  • Analyze actual costs against budgets, track commitments and efforts with emphasis on performance against collaborator financials and impact to alliances under the assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Ensure all collaborator exchanges are submitted on time and in correct format, coordinate and field questions from collaborators, liaise with the Accounting department on data exchanges and approve invoices to be sent to collaborators.
  • Provide insightful analysis of business results to senior management and perform ad-hoc analyses that lead to problem solving and sound business recommendations.
  • Manage and own the financials and trial costing for one program within the therapeutic area.
  • Ad-hoc projects and analyses as needed.
  • Mentor and develop three direct reports and ensure appropriate workload allocation across the team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of business partners and management
  • Proven experience in managing and developing teams
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions and processes
  • 8+ years of (post MBA) experience with forecasting, budgeting and/or business partnering ideally in a science or research driven environment
  • Bachelors degree in a scientific or quantitative field combined with top tier MBA a significant plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in Excel. Experience with Pivot tables and/or Hyperion a plus.
