Responsible for developing, managing and implementing site-based sourcing strategies in conjunction with the Facilities function. This will include support of all facets of construction, engineering services, capital equipment, among other facilities-related goods and services.

  • Responsible for end to end Category Management of assigned categories, including the category strategy development, category sourcing plan execution, and projects to optimize value
  • Strive towards continuous vendor improvement and effectively manage relationships with key category vendors and business stakeholders
  • Develop and sustain vendor and customer relationships as well as assist in ensuring accountability exists within the managed category and performance is tracked
  • Align with stakeholders and business leaders on their needs and provide Project Management and support for multiple projects within budget and on time
  • Responsible for continuous quality and service from suppliers to support efficient business operations
  • Accountable for category spend savings targets and objectives
  • Lead category supplier relationships and sourcing opportunities, including RFPs, negotiations, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), etc.
  • Accountable for contract agreements and addendums and ensure valid contracts are in place
  • Responsible for sound contract management and drive continuous value out of the contract
  • Assist with internal stakeholders to identify and implement opportunities/processes to influence improvement in service, quality, delivery, and cost and optimal payment terms.
  • Educate end-users on Strategic Sourcing and Procurement policies and procedures through daily interactions.
  • Act as a project lead on various project teams to ensure Strategic Sourcing and Procurement goals are met.
  • Develop and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) processes relevant to the indirect goods and services categories.
  • Develop, Lead and Coach direct reports, if applicable.
  • Independently author contractual documents and design and revise templates as required
  • Member of cross-functional teams- lead meetings as appropriate and influence line functions.
  • Robust project management skills
  • Strong understanding of supply/commodity markets and leverage sourcing methodologies
  • Proven experience in negotiating, reviewing and managing client requirements; contracts; policies and procedures
  • Proven experience in Category Management
  • Contract/Pricing Agreements
  • Vendor/Partner relationship management
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results in an expedient manner, quickly gathering information and consensus along with making sound decisions
  • Ability to translate business objectives into actionable priorities
  • Competent in effectively communicating, both verbally and in writing within all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
  • Understanding of current market conditions demonstrated ability to drive savings using different category strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in a cross-functional environment with all levels of executive management
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 8-10 years progressive experience in Procurement
  • 5+ years in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment - preferred
