The Bioassay Group in the Therapeutic Proteins Department seeks a highly motivated Research Associate with expertise in cell-based assay development and screening. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cell biology and possess a BS or MS degree with 2+ years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting bioassays. Specific experience should include the development of functional cellular assays that quantitatively measure changes in cellular signaling activity, cell viability, and/or internalization in response to small molecules and/or antibodies. The ability to work collaboratively and communicate well both within the group and across group settings in a fast-paced team environment is essential.

Responsibilities:
1) Develop cell-based functional assays
2) Mammalian cell culture of adherent and non-adherent cell lines
3) Stable cell line generation via plasmid based and viral-based methodologies
4) Operate a variety of instruments including but not limited to HyperCyte, Accuri C6 cytometer, ImageXpress micro XL, Victor, Hamilton
5) Set up and run bioassays for screening and potency
6) Provide Weekly presentations/verbal updates
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a BS and 4+ years experience or MS with 2+ years experience
Strong aseptic cell culture skills
Stable cell line engineering skills
Flow cytometry expertise
Experience with Immunofluorescence staining procedures
Experience with luciferase based reporters
Cell-based potency assays
