Summary:
Regeneron is seeking a highly motivated and experienced virologist/immunologist with a masters or bachelors degree to join a group working on development of therapeutics for the treatment of infectious diseases. Incumbent should be highly skilled in virology and/or immunology techniques and have experience carrying out experiments and performing data analysis with minimum supervision. Specific skills required include virus propagation, tissue culture, FLOW cytometry, microscopy, and molecular biology techniques such as DNA cloning, protein gels, and qPCR. Incumbent should be able to perform routine tasks involved in virus research, including basic safety procedures in a BSL2 environment. Experience in animal models of disease and basic animal handling is highly preferred. This position will involve working in a fast-paced, stimulating environment and is ideally suited for someone interested in greatly expanding their skills and knowledge base.

Responsibilities:
Incumbent will function as part of a small group. The ultimate goal is to design, validate and develop immunotherapeutic reagents for the treatment and/or prevention of virus infections. In this role he or she will:
Maintain and culture viruses as necessary
Develop in vitro and in vivo models of virus infection
Perform basic immunological assays
Evaluate therapeutics in vitro using basic molecular biology/immunological assays.
Evaluate therapeutics in vivo using mouse models of infectious diseases

Requirements:
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Cell culture, virology, basic molecular biology/biochemistry, immunology, cell biology.

CORE COMPETENCIES: Incumbent should be able to perform tasks involved in running a virology/immunology research laboratory including knowledge of viral culture techniques and basic safety procedures in BSL2 laboratory and proper storage and handling of viruses. He/she should have experience with handling of animals and animal models of virus diseases, carry out experiments and analyze data independently. Understanding and previous experience on virology and immunology would be distinct advantages.

Experience:
Master's desired.
4-8 years of experience.
